1. Campsite reservations are limited to nationally recognized youth groups (i.e., BSA, GSA, AWANA, Indian Guides, etc.).  Cub Scouts and Webelos camping is permitted as long as there is one parent or guardian per scout and no siblings.  All scouts 11-18 may participate in overnight campouts.  All scouts and leaders should be in uniform and the American Flag and Scout Flag displayed in the campsite.  Camping is year round, except the month of January when the park is closed, in the area north of the picnic area.
2. All scout groups reservations are required at least two weeks in advance.  A TOUR PERMIT is required for us to accept your group on Cantigny grounds.  You can obtain a tour permit from your council. Upon arrival, please present the tour permit to Cantigny Security.  (Girl Scouts are not required to have a tour permit.)
3. It is necessary to provide us with a CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE (to be sent back with your signed conformation/hold harmless agreement) available from your council or organization, regardless of the county you live in.   (Girl Scouts are required to provide a certificate of insurance.).
4. Overnight camping is allowed on Friday and Saturday nights.  (No camping during holiday weekends or special event weekends)  Only scouts and their leaders may camp, with the exception of Cub Scouts and Webelos (one adult to every child).  Sorry, family camping is not permitted.
5. Please enter the park through the private drive (entrance just North of the main gate).  Cantigny Security will welcome the adult supervisors; brief them on park policy, then escort your group to the designated campsite.
6. We have two campsites available and each holds up to 100 people.  Only one campsite per group may be accommodated.
7. We request that leaders accompany their campers throughout the grounds and museums.
8. Cantigny is able to accommodate tent camping only (no campers or trailers).  Tents should be a minimum of 150 feet from the road and 20 feet from campfires.
9. Please keep vehicle traffic to a minimum by carpooling to Cantigny.  Vehicles should stay on the road surface and not park on the grass.  Once vehicles are unloaded, you will be asked to park in the main parking lot.  If arrival is after hours, Security will be happy to show you where to park.  Everyone with a vehicle will be asked to complete our a temporary parking ID card sign a disclaimer and display the top portion on their rear view mirror.
10. Please occupy the campsite as early as possible (no later than 8:00 pm), as there are no lights in the campgrounds.
11. If your group is going to arrive at a time different from the reserved time, please contact the Security office at (630) 260-8207.
12. For the safety of the campers after dark, we ask that they stay in the campsite and picnic area restrooms.
13. You will receive literature on Lyme Disease, written by the Illinois Department of Public Health, upon entering the park.  For the safety of our campers, we ask that you read and share the information with your scouts.
14. Washrooms:  The restrooms in the picnic area are left open at night for the campers' convenience.
15. Water:  Water pumps are located in both campsites.  During the colder months, please shut the water pump off completely to prevent freezing.
16. Trash:  Trash containers are located throughout the picnic area and campsites for use by all campers.  Please leave your campsite in the condition in which you found it.  Security will be happy to provide additional garbage bags if necessary.
17. Fires:  Established fire pits are in each campsite for the convenience of campers.  Campfires are not permitted anywhere else.  Please do not leave your fire unattended and extinguish your fire completely upon departure.
18. Firewood:  We provide firewood free of charge to all campers.
19. Cooking Equipment:  You may bring whatever cooking equipment you choose.
20. Tents:  Cantigny does not provide tents or canopies.
21. Hiking Trail Maps:  The hiking trail map is located in the inside page of the Visitors Guide.  Please ask security if clarification on directions are required.
22. Emergencies:  In case of an emergency, contact our 24-hour Security staff.  Go to the Security Operation Center (where you checked in).  Emergency phone calls can be made in the Security Operation Center when the park is closed.  During normal operating hours there are pay phones available in the Visitors Center and First Division Museum.
