Adjacent to the kitchen is a small room that holds canned and boxed foods.  On Willis Irvin’s original plans for the house, he called this room the “Stores.”  When McCormick lived here from 1935 to 1955, the shelves were lined with glass jars filled with preserved and pickled fruits and vegetables.  Meat hooks in the back of the room were filled with dried sausages and cured hams.
