Gold and Silver Ponds

Gold and Silver Ponds are the newest additions to Cantigny Gardens. Built in 1988, these two ponds are surrounded by asphalt walkways making them accessible to all visitors. The landscape theme is  very  naturalistic. Plant material appropriate for a pond setting is utilized in a manner that creates an ever changing floral display throughout the season. Plants such as daylilies, hydrangeas, species roses, goldenrod, browneyed susan, among others, can be found throughout this area. On the far westside of Silver Pond, after crossing a small bridge, you will come to a large gazebo with seating around the inside. You can stop and relax at the gazebo and  take in the view of both ponds. The large plantings of natural grasses surrounding the gazebo will rustle in the breeze as you enjoy the view.
